Policeman injured in Lahore firing

LAHORE: A police constable was injured in a firing incident at Lahore’s Kot Lakhpat area, ARY News reported.

According to details, gunmen opened fire at police when they were signaled to stop near Gate No.3 of Lahore’s General Hospital.

A constable Qamar Abbas was injured in the firing and was rushed to General Hospital for medical treatment.

The gunmen fled from the scene after shooting the policeman. Police has launched a search for the arrest of the shooters.

Lahore is witnessing hike in crime rate.

Armed men shot dead actress Kismat Baig in Harbanspura area of Lahore as she was returning home after a busy workday in November.

Another actress Areeba Khan and her mother were robbed off their cellphones, money and jewellery in Lahore’s Johar Town in December.

Earlier, videos went viral on social media websites which showed citizens being robbed by street criminals on traffic signals of the city.
