KARACHI: A policeman was killed when unidentified armed men opened fire at him in the city’s North Nazimabad area on Friday morning.
According to the police, the incident took place near Landi Kotal Chowrangi in North Nazimabad area. A police constable, identified as Shakir Ahmed, was going to report for duty at Gulberg police station when he came under attack.
After being informed of the incident of shooting, a contingent of police personnel and an ambulance reached the spot and shifted the dead to a nearby hospital for autopsy.
SSP Central Irfan Baloch told the media that the spent bullets of 9mm pistol were found at the crime scene and sent to forensic lab for test.
Meanwhile, the Inspector General of Sindh Police, AD Khawaja, took notice of the shooting incident and sought a report from DIG West about the killing incident.
