Power tariff likely to cut by Rs. 3.21 per unit

According to sources, NEPRA will approve reduction during the hearing of Central Power Purchase Agency’s (CPPA) petition for cut in power tariff, scheduled to be held tomorrow.

The cut in power tariff will provide relief of Rs 20 billion to the masses.

Earlier, President of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FPCCI) Mian Muhammad Adrees had asked NEPRA for early hearing of the petition filed by CPPA for cut in power tariff so that the frustration, confusion and uncertainty among the consumers can be removed and masses could get some relief in power tariff.

He said the decrease in power tariff will reduce the cost of industrial production and make our goods competitive which will boost our exports.

President FPCCI said that it will also lead to increase in investment and employment.
