Powers granted to provinces will not be returned at all: CM Malik

QUETTA: Chief Minister Balochistan, Dr Abdul Malik Baloch has said that authorities granted to the provinces through the 18th amendment will not be allowed to return at all – ARY News reports.

The statement was made during a ceremony held here on Wednesday regarding the implementation of the 18th amendment of the Constitution.

According to details, a 2-day seminar was organized in Quetta in order to aware the officials of the provincial institutions about the authorities given to the provinces through the 18th amendment. Senator Raza Rabbani, former chairman of the parliamentary committee formed pertaining to the 18th amendment, specially attended the seminar.

While addressing the participants, Rabbani said that some forces tend to roll-back the amendment and withdraw the rights given to the provinces. He urged the provincial governments to stand up against this move to deprive them of their rights.

On this occasion, the Chief Minister Balochistan while expressing his fears about conspiracies against the 18th amendment said that the nationalist parties, intellectuals and provincial elders have rendered great sacrifices for achieving the rights and these powers will not be returned at any cost.

Various provincial ministers also addressed the participants of the seminar.

Moreover, the CM Balochistan Abdul Malik Baloch distributed the certificates among the officials upon the completion of training, while the organizers of the seminar said that the provincial government will arrange such ceremonies in future also in order to train the provincial officials.
