Pre-monsoon rain turns weather pleasant in Sindh, Punjab, KP

LAHORE: Pre-monsoon rains lashed different parts of Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab intermittently, turning the weather pleasant.

As per details, Lahore, Okara, Gujrat, Pindi Bhattian, Kasur, and other parts of Punjab received rainfall with thunderstorm. The weather department said the rain will continue on Friday.

Scattered-rain turned the weather pleasant in Karachi on Thursday. The areas, which received showers, included Gulistan-e-Jauhar, Malir, Gulsan-e-Iqbal, and Shah Faisal Colony.

Other parts of Sindh which received rainfall included Thatta, Tandojam, Badin, Hyderabad and Chhachhro.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), rain-thundershower (with isolated heavy rainfall) is expected at scattered places in Lahore, Gujranwala, Sahiwal, Bahawalpur and Mirpurkhas divisions and at isolated places in Zhob, Kalat, Hyderabad, Karachi, Thatta, Malakand, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad divisions, Islamabad, FATA, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan region.

During the past 24 hours, Sindh’s Thatta experienced the maximum rainfall of 25 millimeters,  followed by Tandojam and Mithi receiving 5mm, Badin 3mm, Chachro 2mm, Hyderabad 1mm.

Whereas, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Balakot and Saidu Sharif experienced 23mm of showers, Malamjabba 7mm, Lower Dir 6mm, Dir 5mm, Bannu 2mm, Whereas, Lahore received 3mm of rainfall, Gujranwala 3mm, Kasur 2mm, Sialkot, and Bahawalnagar 1mm.
