Protest sit-in by missing persons' heirs enters 3rd day

ISLAMABAD: The protest sit-in by the heirs of missing persons is continued for the third day, protestors said that a strategy will be devised upon the return of the Prime Minister and vowed to turn the sit-in into a hunger strike camp if the Government did not pay any attention – ARY News reports.

According to details, the heirs of missing persons have been staging a sit-in at the D-Chowk Islamabad, for the recovery of their loved ones. The protestors include elderly people, children and women, who have come all the way from their native towns and cities. Despite of scorching weather, the protestors have a single demand that is to find out their relatives.

Defence of Human Rights leader, Amna Masood Janjua said that the families of missing persons had great expectations with the current Government, which are now fading away. She said that the Prime Minister, Nawaz Sharif should himself meet the heirs of missing people and listen to their demands.

Earlier on Monday, these protesting families had to face brutal police torture, when they tried to march towards the red zone and several were arrested, who were released upon PM orders.
