Protestors surround Rana Sanaullah's residence in Faisalabad

FAISALABAD: Tehreek-e-Labaik Pakistan activists on Sunday protested outside the residence of Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah in Faisalabad, ARY News reported. 

The activists enraged at the botched operation in Islamabad which has left five dead and scores injured marched towards Sanauallah’s residence in Samundari area of Faisalabad before they were stopped by police officers.

The protesters raised slogans against the federal government and attempted to move forward. Police resorted to aerial firing and tear-gas shells to disperse the protestors. The area turned into a battleground as police baton-charged the protesters.

The protestors surrounded Sanaullah’s residence while several protesters fell unwell due to the tear-gas effects. More activists have started arriving in the city from across the world.

On Saturday, TLP activists attacked the ancestral residence of federal Law Minister Zahid Hamid in Sialkot. The house of former interior minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan was also attacked in Islamabad as security guards opened fire at protesters and moved him to safety in an armoured vehicle.

Security has also been tightened at the residence of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif in Raiwand. The road leading towards his residence were filled with containers as a large contingent of policemen were deployed.

The situation in the provincial capital Lahore also faced immense trouble, as small protests and sit-ins were held across the city in various areas including Imamia colony, Data Darbar and Charring Cross. The main sit-in is being held outside the Punjab Assembly.
