Successful PSL final indicates backbone of terrorists broken: Ahsan

ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal on Monday said the successful staging of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) final in Karachi is a clear manifestation that backbone of terrorists had been broken.

“The armed forces, police and the people of Pakistan have jointly defeated terrorism and restored peace in the country because of which economy is also improving,” he said while addressing a ceremony in Islamabad.

The interior minister also announced to celebrate a three-day spring festival in Islamabad from April 6 of the next month.

He said sports, literary, recreational and cultural programmes would be the hallmark of the maiden spring festival.

“On the concluding day of the festival citizens of Islamabad will be persuaded towards tree plantation and plants will be grown on Margalla Hills,” he said.

Ahsan Iqbal said the festival would help highlight positive image of the country.

He said participation of all the provinces would be ensured in all the programmes to be arranged for the festival.
