PSP has confused political opponents: Mustafa Kamal

KARACHI: Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP) leader Mustafa Kamal on Sunday said that his party is increasingly gaining popularity which has raised concerns among their political opponents.

Speaking to media during a membership drive, he took indirect jibes at his political adversary the Mutahidda Quami Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) saying that workers of a forty-year-old party were confused.

“Members of a forty-year-old are confused today, and tomorrow they may part ways,” he said adding that there was discrepancies in the  sayings and actions of his opponents.

“PSP believes in dialogue,” he said adding that the party wants to include for all segments society, and even work for those who are not part of their party.

“We have confused our political opponents,” he said adding the increasing popularity of the PSP since the last two-and-half years has created immense trouble for other political parties.

“We have to focus on solving the problems” he said decrying that 25 million children were out of school, while youth wer employed. “There is no justice, FIRs are filed on petty issues.”

Kamal refused to comment on MQM-P leader Farooq Sattar’s saying that he respects her, but should not involved in politics. He also refused to comment on rumours that former president General (retd) Pervez Musharraf was interesting the leadership reigns of the MQM and PSP.

“We instead want to solve the problems of rural areas,” he said. Kamal said that he was a man of this words and stood by every word he has said.

Kamal said his party would to reach out to all segments of the society and not just be confined to any particular ethnic group. He said they want to create peace and harmony in the city.

He said that more than fifty thousand people have become members of the PSP, and they will even invite those whom they have a difference of opinion.

Earlier, Mustafa Kamal was on a whirlwind tour of the city visiting from his residence in Defence Housing Authority to Surjani Town. Kamal spoke to party workers in Liaquatabad and instructed to make arrangement for a large political gathering in the area.

He also visited Khyber roundabout, Orangi, Kati Phari, Paposhnagar, Hyderi and New Karachi. PSP workers gave him a rapturous welcome, and he invited others to also join the party as a membership drive is currently underway.
