PSX begins trading in green as KSE-100 index gains 154 points

KARACHI: The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) on Monday began in green after the KSE-100 index gained 154 points during the early day trading, ARY NEWS reported.

The PSX traded above 40,000 mark at 40,304 points after an increase of 154 points.

Earlier in the day, the US dollar after days of hike in open market saw a decline against rupee on Monday after it shed Rs3.

According to forex dealers, the US dollar shed Rs0.37 in the interbank and traded at Rs239.37 as the banks are still selling the greenback at Rs243. In open market, after touching the Rs250 mark, the US dollar declined to Rs247.

It is pertinent to mention here that the KSE-100 index of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) lost 202 points on Friday.

The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) witnessed a bearish trend on the last financial day of the week and lost 202 points to settle at 40,074 points.

The market had shown some growth on Thursday by gaining 575 points after PTI backed Chaudhry Pervaiz Illahi took oath as Cheif Minister Punjab.

Meanwhile, according to SBP data, the PKR, after 15 days, managed to halt the USD surge and gained by a mere 57 paisa on Friday.
