SUKKUR: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is all set to hold a public gathering on Friday (today) at Sukkur’s Lab-e-Mehran ground.
All arrangements have been finalised as the rally is expected to kick-off around 6pm in the evening before dusk. The party workers have been directed to ensure their presence at the venue around 2pm.
The city administration has inspected all security arrangements for the event by late night besides deploying around 1,000 police personnel for the PTI’s political event.
The organizers have set up three entry points to the venue, two for men and one for the women participants of the public meeting.
PTI chief Imran Khan will address the gathering late today. The district-level party leaders have already arrived at the venue. Meanwhile, Imran Khan, Shah Mehmood Qureshi, along with other senior PTI leaders are expected to land at Sukkur airport in the afternoon.
Khan had urged local people and party supporters to attend the PTI’s rally in a special video message.
In the brief video message, Imran regretted that he could not pay a visit to Sindh and interact with the masses as he had been engaged in his intensive struggle in the Panamagate case.
“I could not get a chance to interact with people of Sindh and hold public gatherings [in the province] as you all know we were busy in the Panamagate [case],” Khan remarked.
Calling upon people to participate in the party’s public gathering tomorrow, Khan said: “We will start a campaign for people residing in Sindh.”
“The prime objective of my visit is to raise awareness among the masses about their adverse situation and how they could get out of it,” Khan further said in his video message.
Khan said that he knows the situation in the province and he will speak on how it can be improved. “We will give our plan on how the people of Sindh can become prosperous; how the youth in the province can get jobs.”
