PTI insisted on removal of Rafique Rajwana, Punjab Governor

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Friday, predetermined to the Chief election commissioner (CEC) for immediate removal from office of Rafique Rajwana, Governor Punjab in order to conduct fair elections 2018.

Babar Awan, PTI central senior vice president wrote a detailed letter to the chief election commissioner (CEC) stating that, as per the article of 2018/3 of the constitution Election Commission of Pakistan was responsible for the free, impartial and transparent conduct of General Election 2018.

He is mainly concern for Punjab governor’s relationship with Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz.

Rafique Rajwana, a member of PML-N is the 36th Governor of Punjab, posted to this profile on 10th May 2015.

Earlier in 1997, he was a senator from southern Punjab, then in 2012 a senior Advocate at Supreme Court of Pakistan. In February 2014, chair person of the parliamentary committee for appointment of Chief Election Commissioner of Pakistan.

He has been member of various committees related to law and order including Foreign Affairs, Law Justice and Human Rights, Government Assurances and many more.

PTI’s leader also mentioned that Governor Rajwana’s son, Asif Rajwana, had also been PML-N nominee from Punjab Assembly constituency PP-214 previously.

He grieved over the fact that resources of Governor House are being wasted at promotional activities related to election campaign of the PML-N .

The PTI leader requested the chief election commissioner (CEC) to take abrupt notice of this matter and remover Governor Punjab, Rafique Rajwana.
