PTI labels Shahbaz as ‘Show-baaz Sharif’

TOP NEWS

LAHORE: Accusing him of failing to keep his words on resolving key public issues, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has dubbed Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif ‘Show-baaz Sharif’, ARY News reported Sunday.

A sobriquet ‘Show-baaz’, which means boastful, was given to Shahbaz by PTI over his failure to resolve persisting load-shedding menace from Punjab, despite ‘promises to do so during election campaigns’.

Addressing a press conference at a protest camp against load-shedding outside Punjab Assembly, the PTI leader Mian Mehmoodur Rasheed said Shahbaz had claimed to eradicate load-shedding from Punjab in six months during the election campaign, and exclaimed his name be changed if he failed to keep his word.

Rasheed, who is also the Opposition Leader in the Punjab Assembly, said a year had passed with PML-N government in power, but load-shedding problem was still there.

Eradicating load-shedding and terrorism from the province more important than launching metro bus service, he said.

The PTI leader was of the view that problems of masses could not be resolved until government changed its priorities. He demanded the government to pay attention to core issues facing the education and health sectors.

The PTI winded up its protest that began on June 11 with dubbing the CM Punjab ‘Show-baaz Sharif’.
