PTI rally aimed to influence NA-149 by-polls: Hashmi

TOP NEWS

Javed Hashmi on Tuesday said that he quit the political parties during a time when they were either in power or going through their peak. He said that whatever political party he left, was left for the survival and stability of democracy.

Hashmi claimed that the purpose of PTI rally in Multan was to influence the by-elections in his constituency.

The statement came a day before the by-elections in NA-149 Multan, while the electoral campaigns of all the candidates will come to an end at 12 am tonight. The seat fell vacant after Hashmi resigned from his National Assembly (NA) membership, due to serious differences with PTI.

He is again contesting the polls as an independent candidate, while he also has the support of a majority of political parties including the ruling PMLN.

On the other hand, PTI is supporting another independent candidate Amir Dogar, who is also an influential political figure of the constituency.
