The resolution was submitted by PTI lawmaker Malik Taimoor Masood. It termed the cartoon as ‘explicit content’ leaving bad impact on children’ and demanded Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (Pemra) to impose a ban on it.
“The language used in the cartoons is ruining our social values,” the resolution reads.
The MPA contended that excessive viewing of cartoon channels was negatively impacting on children’s educational and physical growth. The resolution couldn’t be taken up and will likely be discussed in the next sitting.

Doraemon is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by the manga team Fujiko Fujio. The story revolves around a robotic cat named Doraemon, who travels back in time from the 22nd century to aid a pre-teen boy named Nobita Nobi.
The cartoon is dubbed in Hindi for viewers in Pakistan and India.
According to Times of India, Ashish Chaturvedi, the whistleblower of India’s biggest education scam, is now crusading against two of the world’s most famous Japanese cartoon characters- Doraemon and Shin Chan.
He feels that the adverse psychological impacts of the two Hindi and English dubbed ‘violent’ cartoons are grappling a whole generation of kids across India and the world, which is more dangerous than Vyapam scam.
