PTI submits members resignations from NA

PTI vice chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi and the party’s MNA from Karachi Arif Alvi submitted the resignations to the speaker’s office today.

Secretary National Assembly Mohammad Riaz received the sealed envelope as Speaker Ayaz Sadiq was not present in his office.

Secretary NA has said that Speaker Ayaz Sadiq will open the envelope on Monday.

PTI had announced to submit resignations of its 34 MNAs to protest against alleged irregularities in 2013 general elections.

PTI lawmaker Arif Alvi before proceeding to submit resignations of the members talking to media said that some of the lawmakers are ailing or went abroad due to which their resignations have not been received so far.
