KARACHI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Naz Baloch on Sunday announced to join the Pakistan Peoples Party, ARY News reported.

She announced to part ways with the PTI at a press conference held at PPP Media Cell here in Karachi  along with by Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah and PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari’s sister, Faryal Talpur.

Baloch took a swipe at her previous party saying it no longer represented the country’s youth for it had changed in the course of time while raising a slogan of change. “Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, the chairman of the PPP, was a true leader of the youth,” she added.

She said that she did not want to indulge in mudslinging, but instead parted ways as she remained critical of the PTI for ignoring Karachi and the rest of the Sindh.  “I feel that province of Punjab remained a focus of the PTI. They are focused on the centre.”

She said whenever PTI chief came to Karachi for five or six hour long visit, the party workers was kept away from the party workers by the local leadership.

“I tried to persuade Imran Khan on several occasions to give time to Karachi and Sindh, because our workers were becoming demotivated and were leaving the party to join other parties,” Naz said.

Alluding to recent defections to the PTI in Punjab province, she said the ideological workers were upset because the people joining the party were neither the youth, nor care about the policies of Sindh.

She said she felt as if she had come home as her father has been a staunch supporter of the ideology of the PPP’s founder Shaheed Zulifqar Ali Bhutto.

Naz Baloch joined PTI in 2011 and become the central vice president of PTI Sindh. She contested from NA-240 constituency in 2013 general elections and was the women from her constituency. Her father Abdullah Baloch was a member of the PPP but she instead chose to join the PTI.
