The home ministry order is issued as part of government measures to reduce crimes and terror incidents across the metropolis.

The notification reads that police lights or hooters on private cars and tinted shades on vehicles are also not allowed. Police have been asked to confiscate the same if spotted.

Violators refusing to abide by the law would be charged under the section 188.
