Punjab govt introducing business-friendly policies: Jawan Bakhat

LAHORE: Punjab Finance Minister Jawan Bakhat Hashim on Tuesday said that Punjab government was introducing stables and conducive policies for the promotion of business and trade in the province.

Briefing a 29-member French business delegation, who visited the chief minister’s office today, Jawan Bakhat Hashim said that the provincial government had already launched a new industrial policy, besides number of other steps for ease of doing business.

He said that the promotion of agriculture and SME was the top priority of the Punjab government and added that they were providing soft loans, modern technology, agriculture inputs and machinery to the farmers for the development of the agriculture sector.

According to a statement issued from Directorate General Public Relations, Jawan Bakhat said that the government introduced number of initiatives for the industrialization in the province. He said the government was facilitating the investors under one platform including the development of the industrial states, special economic zones, and common platform for provincial and federal the tax collections.

The minister said that Punjab Board of Investment and Trade (PBIT) identifying the investment opportunities in the province and facilitating the investors, besides a special cell in planning and development department working for public private partnership in the province.

On the occasion, chairman Planning and Development Board briefed about the five year development plans of the government.

He informed the delegation that the Punjab was safe haven for the investors besides quality infrastructure available in the province for the foreign investors along with favorable laws.
