The inquiry report read that the father of slain Shehzad Maseeh, was allegedly involved in witchcraft, who died on October 31. Upon his demise, when the amulets were burnt, some miscreants provoked the residents of the area by misinterpreting it.
At which, provoked people barged into the office of kiln owner, Yousuf Gujjar by breaking its roof and subjected the Christian couple to severe torture.
“The charged-up crowd then threw the ill-fated husband and wife into the burning kiln” the report mentioned.
Earlier, the couple identified as Shehzad Maseeh and Shama Bibi were burnt alive by a mob after being accused of committing blasphemy. It is said that a owner of a furnace had blamed the Christian couple of committing blasphemy over a monetary dispute.
Moreover, social, religious and minority groups across the country have strongly reacted to the incident and staged various demonstrations against the brutal killing of the couple.
