Punjab Govt sought help from Rangers to root out terrorism, says CM Sharif

ISLAMABAD: Chief Minister of Punjab Shahbaz Sharif has said that provincial government has sought Rangers’ help for rooting out terrorists from the province, ARY News reported.

Meeting a delegation led by Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) leader Ameer Muqam on Tuesday, CM Punjab said that the nation’s mission is to root out terrorism from the country. He also said that the whole nation gets upset wherever a terrorist incident takes place.

He said that security forces, police, politicians and people from all walks of life have rendered tremendous sacrifices in the war against terrorism.

He added that a joint committee will be formed by the provincial government which will address the complaints of Pakhtuns regarding the combing operations in the province.

“No one will be allowed to create differences to gain political mileage,” Shahbaz Sharif said.

He said that Punjab Government decided to organize the final of this year’s Pakistan Super League (PSL) in Lahore despite the surge in terror incidents across the country. He said that the nation will not let the terrorists succeed in their plans.

“We want cooperation of the whole nation in order to foil the terrorists’ nefarious plans,” the chief minister added.
