Punjab govt vows to eradicate child labor, facilitate girls education

“Child labor across the province would be eradicated from hotels and gas stations after brick kilns,” he said while addressing a function in connection with international day against child labour in Lahore.

He said scholarships were being given to the children of brick kiln workers, besides free books and uniforms.

Shahbaz Sharif urged owners of brick kiln to ensure provision of basic facilities to their workers. He said strict action would be taken against forced child labor.

The chief minister Punjab said the provincial government had taken steps to put an end to child labour.

He said Pakistan Muslim League-N believed in politics of values. Today’s Pakistan was safe, peaceful, prosperous and progressive as compared to the past.

On this occasion, Director of an international organization stressed on the government to effectively implement laws against child labor.
