LAHORE: On the directives of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the largest flood damage survey in Punjab’s history is currently underway, ARY News reported on Tuesday.
According to the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), more than 2,200 survey teams are actively operating in the flood-affected districts across the province.
The PDMA reported that 48 per cent of the survey work in the affected areas has been completed so far, with detailed data of 329,000 flood victims collected.
Flood damage survey teams have identified 940,000 acres of flood-affected land, while data of 94,796 damaged houses—including both fully and partially affected structures—has been compiled.
Additionally, information regarding the death of 7,043 livestock, including 5,387 large animals and 1,656 small cattle, has been received from various districts.

According to DG PDMA, survey teams are conducting door-to-door assessments to collect accurate details. Once the data is verified through PITB, PDMA, and NADRA, the affected families will receive financial assistance.
The DG PDMA further stated that, as per the Chief Minister’s directives, the process of financial aid distribution will commence soon.
Pakistan faced a catastrophic flood crisis in 2025, driven by relentless monsoon rains, flash floods, and glacial lake outbursts, claiming over 800 lives and affecting more than 1.2 million people across multiple provinces. The floods have devastated communities, destroyed infrastructure, and deepened economic challenges, with losses potentially reaching $50 billion.
