Qamar praises Parliamentarians behavior during presidential address

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader, Naveed Qamar has said that the Parliamentarians laid the foundation of a true democratic tradition, by listening to the presidential address in a civilized manner. He added that similar behavior will be adopted during the budget speech, neither loaves will be tossed, nor bangles – ARY News reports.

Democracy now seems to attain maturity in the state, as the members of the opposition demonstrated gentleness during President Mamnoon Hussain’s address with the joint session of the Parliament, earlier today.

Though members of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN), then the major party in opposition, had surrounded the PPP finance minister, Hafeez Sheikh, during the budget speech of last year of the outgoing PPP-government.

PMLN members had made so much fuss that the budget speech was all interrupted and PMLN leader, Tehmina Doultana had also presented bangles to the then finance minister, for humiliating him over the policies of his government.

Current Minister of Planning and Development, Ahsan Iqbal had also tried to present a loaf to Hafeez Sheikh, in a bid to make him realize the increasing rates of food items.

However, PPP leader, Naveed Qamar has said now said that his party members will avoid traditional protest during the budget speech and it will be listened quietly.

He said that parliamentarians by listening to the presidential address patiently, set a new example today.
