Quetta Gladiators edge past Peshawar Zalmi to book spot in PSL final

The Gladiators qualified for PSL final after a nerve-wracking clash with Afridi’s Peshawar Zalmi.

Shahid Afridi won the toss and decided to field.

Bismillah Khan and Ahmed Shehzad failed to score much for Quetta Gladiators. Kevin Pietersen hit 50 off 38 and Kumara Sangakara scored 37 off 29, but the Gladiators stumbled after the two returned to pavilion.

Quetta set 134 runs target for Peshawar after being dismissed in the 20th over.

Upon its turn, Zalmi also lost wickets after brief intervals. Darren Sammy 38 created a ray of hope, while Wahab also supported his side hitting 22 runs in death overs.

Zalmi required eight runs to win in the last over, but Aizaz Cheema kept his nerve in the last over and ensured his teamgo through the final.

As for Peshawar Zalmi, they will face off against the winner of the eliminator between Karachi Kings and Islamabad United for a place in the final.
