Qureshi wants end to deadlock in talks

Speaking to media after meeting the Jamaat-e-Islami delegation, Qureshi said it was evident from PM’s gesture that he did not want solution to the problem. We will not support any unconstitutional move, he added.

He said, “Currently we are not holding talks with the government. We have not given any minus-one formula nor we are in its favour.”

“We told impediments into talks with government to JI chief Sirajul Haq.”

JI chief Sirajul Haq said the matter had reached a point that PM should resign for 30 days with subsequent condition of court’s probe into election rigging to determine the PM should continue or not. However, it could not be agreed upon, he added.

He said the government did not want to talk on PM’s resignation.

Both the parties are in contact with each other. He praised PTI workers and supporters for remaining peaceful throughout their long march. “Not a single glass is broken during the protest, which is encouraging,” he said.

There is no hopelessness; a ray of hope if still there, said JI chief.

Siraj said if PTI resignations were accepted it would add to the crisis.
