Radley report can’t be trusted, contrary to facts, Maryam tells court

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leader Maryam Nawaz while recording her statement for a second consecutive day in Avenfield reference, before the accountability court on Friday, claimed that Robert Radley report can’t be trusted as it is contrary to facts.

“Wajid Zia did not get the Radley report verified from me for a second time,” Maryam said while further accusing JIT of its ill-intent in employing the services of Robert Radley.

She stated that Robert Radley was hired through Wajid Zia’s cousin to produce a fake report. “Why the JIT employed Radley services on its own? Why this all was not taken through the foreign office?” daughter of PML-N’s supreme leader questioned in her statement.

During hearing, Maryam asserted that the entire process of Robert Radley’s hiring and submitting them the scanned copy of original documents, for investigation, is highly suspicious. “Therefore, this report is unacceptable and was only prepared to involve mine and my husband’s name in the case,” she added.

Rehashing her father Nawaz Shairf’s statement, Maryam also denied all the allegations about associations with Qatari family and said, “I never had affiliations with any business or transactions of Qatari family; neither do I know anything about Qatari letter”

“Hussain Nawaz is the owner of London flats and was also the beneficial owner of offshore companies Nielsen and Nescoll”, daughter of deposed prime minister testified before the court.

She again questioned the objectivity of JIT and blamed that Wajid Zia with his malicious intent recorded phony statements in the court.

It is pertinent to mention that Robert W Radley of Radley Forensic Document Laboratory was appointed by the joint investigation team (JIT) to examine the documents presented by the Sharif family regarding Avenfiled apartments.

Radley revealed that the type of font used in the Trust Deed declarations was ‘Calibri’ which was not commercially available before Jan 31, 2007.

The Avenfield reference, pertaining to the Sharif family’s London properties, is among three filed references against the Sharif family by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) last year on the Supreme Court’s directives.
