ARY News correspondent Azhar Farooq reported from the venue that Rafique, who holds the portfolio of Railways Ministry, secretly arrived at the venue to meet Dr. Qadri in a container he is currently abiding. Farooq reported that the meeting was not scheduled. The minister came to the sit-in venue in an unplanned visit to meet the PAT chief.
Central PAT leaders were also present during a meeting. The minister brought message of the prime minister for the protesting cleric.
Sources told that Rafique conveyed to Dr. Qadri that culprits of Model Town incident will be brought to book. He said government wanted dialogue to end this crisis. There should be no halt in the negotiation process, the minister cites prime minister as saying.m
It may be noted that PAT had earlier refused to talk to Khwaja Saad Rafique as he was nominated by the party in an FIR against 21 persons involved in Model Town carnage that claimed over two dozen lives on June 16.
