Rahat Ali Khan sings ISPR song for Pakistan Day

RAWALPINDI: Media wing of Pakistan armed forces, Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Tuesday released a national video song ‘Hum Subka Pakistan’ (Our Pakistan) in connection with the Pakistan Day.

Pakistan Day is a national holiday in Pakistan to observe the Pakistan Resolution which was passed on 23rd March, 1940, at Minar-e-Pakistan in Lahore. The resolution had demanded for establishing a country comprising provinces having Muslim majority. The day is celebrated annually.

A military parade for the celebration of the event is held to mark the day along other programs held by different organizations and special telecasts run on TV and radio channels.

The song is produced by Salahuddin Ayubi and sung by famous singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan. Lyrics of the song are written by Imran Rana.

Theme of the song is that Pakistan belongs to all of us, the citizens of Pakistan, regardless of our faith, color, creed or sect. The video starts with excerpts read from Pakistan Resolution while showing the landmark place of Minar-e-Pakistan and script of Pakistan Resolution and national anthem.

The resolution reads: “There are two major nations that are Hindus and Muslims. We want the division of India into Hindustan and Pakistan. Because that is the only pragmatic solution.”

Division of the subcontinent is a landmark historical event followed by exodus of Muslims from Hindu majority areas to the Muslim country after British rulers left this land.

Catchphrases of the ISPR song are: “We are resilient Pakistani Nation”, “No power can undo ‘Our Pakistan’” and “United We Rise”.

The song shows people from all walks of life including labourers, sportsmen, security forces, farmers, children, old, women and engineers who are expressing their love for their country.
