Ramadan Moon Sighting Forecast
Meanwhile, Pakistan is likely to observe the first day of Ramadan on February 19, 2026, according to a forecast issued by the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).
The Met Office said the Ramadan moon is expected to be born on February 17, 2026, at 5:01 p.m., with strong chances of sighting on the evening of February 18.
Experts noted that at sunset on February 18, the moon’s age will be approximately 26 hours, which is considered favorable for visibility. On that day, the sun is expected to set at 6:25 p.m., while the moon will set at around 7:24 p.m., allowing sufficient time for observation.
The Met Office cautioned that partly cloudy conditions may prevail in several parts of the country, potentially affecting moon sighting in some areas. However, experts said the likelihood of sighting the Ramadan crescent remains high, as the minimum age required for visibility is generally around 19 hours.
