FAISALABAD: Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah warned on Monday that if Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was sent packing in an undemocratic manner, the country will plunge into political turmoil, ARY News reported.
Speaking to media in Faisalabad, the minister said some foreign elements want to destabilize Pakistan. The public will be at the receiving end if the country plunges into political disarray, he said.
The people of Pakistan had elected Nawaz Sharif as the premier, he couldn’t be sent home on whims of the opponents, he added.
The minister said that not a single allegation of corruption had surfaced throughout the PM’s political career spanning over 30 years, neither was he accused of misusing or embezzling public money during his incumbent tenure.
He challenged the detractors to come up with evidences to substantiate their allegations of corruption in any of the government’s project.
The Prime Minister always made sincere efforts to bring an end to load-shedding of electricity in the country and overcome economic instability to pave way to the country’s progress and development. “Our opponents are well aware of the fact that they cannot defeat Sharif in the upcoming 2018 elections because of his popularity among the public. Therefore, they are using other means to oust him.”
He said that the record development work was being carried out by the government. “We have been leading Pakistan towards financial stability,” he claimed.
Slamming the chief minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhuwa who, he said, marched on the capital city, Sanaullah asked didn’t he commit treason indulging in anti-state activities.
