Rasheed bemoans 'extremism' in politics

Talking to media here, the minister said that the government formed commission to probe Panama Papers claims for it knows it stands clear of any wrongdoing and now those who are guilty will try to run away from the commission.

“The terms of reference (TORs) of the commission were formulated on opposition’s demand that encompass loans written off and money laundering,” he noted.

“Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was twice subjected to accountability during the tenures of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and once in Musharraf’s reign, while the premier for the fourth time has now presented himself for this sake.”

Rasheed reminded that his party could have PPP and Tehreek-i-Insaf seated in opposition in Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa respectively, but the premier’s vision was to take along everyone.

Had only the operation Zarb-e-Azb would not have been backed politically and no legislation made then the successes against terrorism could encounter difficulties, he said.

The minister also questioned that if Tehreek-i-Insaf does not have confidence in judges then why did it participate in the lawyers’ movement aimed at restoring judges.
