Rawalpindi culprits to be brought to justice: PM Nawaz

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister of Pakistan, Nawaz Sharif has stressed upon the need of identifying the people responsible of the Rawalpindi Incident and to bring the elements involved in it to justice, through transparent investigations – ARY News reports.

According to details, PM chaired a law and order meeting in realm of the recent sectarian flare-up that aroused after the Rawalpindi Tragedy. The meeting heeded upon the incident that claimed at least 11 lives.

IG Punjab Khan Baig briefed the meeting that 11 people were killed while 56 were injured in Rawalpindi Mishap. He added that all the deceased succumbed to bullet wounds and no one is reported to be missing.

The IG Punjab told that the police has arrested 9 accused so far, who were identified through the footages.

He admitted that the incident was a failure of the police.

PM Nawaz expressed his annoyance, saying that the law enforcement agencies (LEAs) did not play their role. He added that provocative speech, hitting the mosque with stones and firing cannot be tolerated at all.

The Prime Minister also directed the officials to pin-point the ones who demonstrated irresponsibility.

He further directed to utilize cyber crimes law to bring the culprits to justice.
