Religious sites should be given protection, says Nisar

ISLAMABAD: Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has said that sacred sites in the country should be provided security instead of shutting them down, ARY News reported.

He made the statement following the explosion at the shrine of Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalandar in Sehwan which claimed the lives of at least 76 people.

According to details, all shrines in the country have been opened and pilgrims are being allowed to enter the premises after security checking.

Earlier, Sindh Rangers deployed its soldiers for security at the shrine Abdullah Shah Ghazi. Over 50 personnel are serving duty inside and outside the shrine’s premises.

Wing Commander also paid a surprise visit to supervise the security arrangements at the shrine.
