KARACHI: Karachi Commissioner Iftikhar Shalwani on Tuesday said a report comprising suggestions of all the stakeholders on ways to reduce traffic in the metropolis would be submitted to the Sindh High Court (SHC), ARY News reported.
“A comprehensive strategy is being devised to reduce traffic pressure in Karachi,” Iftikhar Shalwani said while addressing a meeting regarding measures to control vehicular traffic here at his office.
On directive of the SHC, all the stakeholders participated in the meeting and mulled over different suggestions.
The meeting cogitated over fully activating Zulfiqarabad terminal parking.

The forum decided to take action against illegal parking at Shireen Jinnah Colony.
The commissioner directed the relevant authorities to take action against those who did not vacate shops in Shireen Jinnah Colony.
On March 14, the SHC had directed the Karachi city administration to prepare an action plan for coping with traffic woes and submit it by April 9.
A two-member bench headed by Justice Mohammad Ali Mazhar had also directed relevant departments to attend a meeting scheduled at commissioner office on March 19, and float their proposals.
The court had asked the member of the Board of Revenue to ensure his presence in the next hearing to inform about the land for a proposed truck and bus stand after a representative of transporters highlighted the issue.
