Riaz announces to establish universities in Karachi, Hyderabad

KARACHI: Bahria Town chairman, Malik Riaz on Thursday announced to establish universities in Karachi and Hyderabad, which will be dedicated to the chief of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), Altaf Hussain, ARY News reported.

Talking to media after meeting the Pakistan Hockey Team together with Governor Dr Ishratul Ebad, Malik Riaz made the announcement which generated a wave of happiness among the majority Urdu-speaking populace of the two major cities of Sindh.

He said that Mr Hussain has rendered remarkable services for the nation and the Bahria Town in recognition of these services will establish universities with his name in Karachi and Hyderabad.

He said that the fees of these universities will even be lesser than that of the public sector universities.

“At first a university will be established in Karachi and its development work will be initiated next month”, told Riaz.

Apart from this, he also announced to allocate plots for martyred MQM workers in the Bahria Town.

While praising the Pakistan Hockey Team, Malik Riaz said there was a time when the entire world used to acknowledge our team.

He handed Rs 50 lac to Pakistan Hockey Team and announced to give away another Rs 1 crore as prize if the team succeeds in bringing the Champions Trophy to Pakistan.

On this occasion, the Governor Sindh also announced Rs 10 lac prize for the Pakistan Hockey Team.
