Reacting just the way it was expected, Sardar Ali Shah has sturdily demanded an apology from the makers of the film for distorting historical facts in ‘Mohenjo Daro’.
Shah said the film’s director should be sorry to Sindh and its people for twisting historical facts of an ancient yet incredibly developed civilisation of the mound of the dead.
The minister said he was determined to share Sindh’s reaction and reservations to the director concerned while talking to reporters in Makli necropolis on Sunday.
One of the world’s earliest cities was back to life in one of the most anticipated Bollywood’s films.
However, Director Ashutosh Gowariker failed to recreate the life of the Indus Valley civilisation whose walls, streets and citadel can still be seen today in modern-day Sindh province in Pakistan
Shah said there was no such thing as Harappa War and recovery of levy in the history of Moenjodaro as depicted in the film, saying it was just an imagination of the filmmaker.
He said while making such an important film, its makers should have taken great care while playing with facts.
Moenjodaro is a World Heritage Site, one of the best preserved in South-Asia where visitors can see a well-planned city built of unbaked brick dating back to the beginning of the third millennium B.C.
The film was released worldwide on August 12 but badly failed on Pakistani box office.
