LAHORE: Federal Minister for Pakistan Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique on Saturday dispelled an impression that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leadership is indulged in giving raging speeches against judiciary in aftermath of Panamagate verdict, ARY News reported.

Talking to media persons in Jati Umra here, Rafique said that his party leadership has only expressed its reservations on segments of Panamagate investigation which party leadership deemed weak from a legal point of view.

“The party has not discredited the judiciary or spoken against judges,” he asserted.

He claimed that his party respects the Supreme Court and the review petitions have been filed over reservations. “We have disagreements with judgment, hence we have filed the review petitions. The party will continue to comment on points which our legal experts deem weak from a legal point of view,” Rafique added.

He reiterated that the party has always refrained from making unnecessary criticism and has no intention of disrespecting the judiciary or any judges.

He clarified that the party is not pointing out judiciary when it raises concerns over conspiracies.

Criticising Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan, the railways minister said that Imran has acted as a pawn and no importance should be given to what he says.
