LAHORE: Railway Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique on Thursday asked the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to fix another date for his questioning in connection with an investigation into Ashiana Housing Scheme scam.
The minister wrote a letter to the bureau, in which he said he was unable to appear before it owing to other pressing engagements and demanded that it should set another date.
He said he would appear before a NAB team and answer all its questions despite the fact that they were being targeted in the name of accountability.
Rafique said the subpoena he had received had no mention of Ashiana Housing Scheme and that the bureau was to question him about Paragon City.
He complained that he was being questioned about it even though he had submitted an affidavit to the apex court, proving that he had no connection with the project.
NAB Lahore had summoned the minister on March 22(today) for questioning in Ashiana Housing Scheme Scam.
He is alleged to be the owner of Paragon Housing Society, which he had denied in the Supreme Court.
A NAB team had earlier raided offices of Paragon a few weeks ago and seized important documents as part of investigation into the housing scam.
