Saeed Ajmal’s took 8/100 as Worcestershire thrashed Hampshire by an innings in a county game earlier this week.

Mason said Ajmal’s match-winning performance for Worcestershire was a clear evidence of the hard work the spinner is putting in.

He added that credit should be given to Ajmal as he has found ways to get batsmen out with a modified action.

“He wants the people not only in Worcester and in Pakistan that he is not a spent force in the sport”, Mason said.

Worcestorshire’s bowling coach also said that the spinner was included into the national side a bit earlier and was a little out of sorts upon his return to the team.

Ajmal was banned by the International Cricket Council for an illegal bowling action and was cleared to bowl in February. However, his return to the national side did not go well as Bangladesh team took him to the cleaners during the tour earlier this year.

Worcester’s Director of Cricket Steve Rhodes said that the team is very comfortable with Ajmal’s new bowling action and the bowler’s confidence is growing which is a good sign for the rest of the season.
