Ghani shows displeasure over delay in completion of development schemes

KARACHI: Sindh Local Bodies Minister Saeed Ghani on Thursday showed his annoyance over delay in completion of various Public Health Engineering department schemes, ARY News reported.

Ghani was chairing a meeting to review the performance of Public Health Engineering and the Rural Development Department, here today in Karachi.

The meeting that was attended by the concerned officials of the aforesaid departments, discussed various under construction development schemes of water supply, sewerage, RO plants, rural roads and others across the province.

The minister taking notice of the slow work pace on the development schemes directed the officials to make sure the completion of the schemes in the current year.

He also asked to give proper attention to the rural area schemes.

Back in the month of December 2018, Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah had also showed his resentment over slow pace of work over development schemes.

Chairing a meeting at the chief minister house to review ongoing development schemes in the province, he showed displeasure over slow pace of work on development schemes, aimed at construction of district headquarters hospitals in Sanghar and Dadu districts.

“Funds of rs 700million have been released so far out of rs 4billion, the total cost of the construction of DHQs in Dadu and Sanghar,” the chief minister said during the meeting.

He said behavior of some officers, especially of engineer work and services are ‘intolerable.’
