Sammy’s heroics help West Indies level series

VISHAKAPATNAM: Darren Sammy’s unbeaton knock of 63 runs helped West Indies to beat India by 2 wickets on Sunday, ARY News reports.



West Indies won the toss and elected to field first.



India was dismissed on 288 runs. Virat Kohli, the right arm batsmen, was the highest scorer with 99 runs whereas Mahendra Singh Dhoni, wicket keeper Captain of India, contributed 51 runs. Shikhar Dhawan made 35 runs.



Ravi Rampaul grabbed four wickets in the match.



In reply, West Indies reached their target of 289 with just three balls to spare. Darren Sammy was the top scorer for the team with 63 runs not out followed By Lendl Simmons at 62. Keiran Powell contributed 59 runs and Dwayne Bravo made a half century.



The three match ODI series is tied at 1-1.



The third and final ODI will be played Kanpur on November 27.
