Sanaullah advises Imran Khan to postpone rally until Eid

Addressing a news conference in Lahore on Friday, he said according to intelligence sources terrorists could carry out attacks in Lahore and Peshawar after recent Quetta carnage.

“We would like to request Imran Khan to take out rally after Eid. He should better visit victims of Peshawar and Mardan for now,” he said.

However, he said, despite threats of terrorism the government would not use force to stop the rally.

The minister said Imran Khan and Pakistan Awami Tehreek Chief, Tahir ul Qadri were pursuing an agenda of fulfilling their personal interests.

Imran Khan has announced to lead a rally in Lahore demanding accountability of the government.

Punjab government had informed Imran Khan about the security threats during his public march and sit-in in Lahore, he said.

“I would request the PTI chief to stop demonstrating insanity like the Karachi leader,” law minister said.

He also said that the government will provide full security for Imran Khan’s public gathering. Commissioner and deputy commissioners were taking measures in this regard.

He said around 5, 000 security personnel will be deployed from Shahdara Bagh to the Mall Road Lahore for security of the rally.

On the other hand, DIG Police (Operations) Punjab has said that fool-proof security will be provided to the PTI rally. He said the rally participants will be checked at three points.
