BRISBANE: Pakistan’s wicket-keeper batsman Sarfraz Ahmed is returning back home to tend to his mother who has been under treatment at a hospital in Karachi, citing sources ARY News reported on Tuesday.
Sources said that Ahmed’s mother is critically ill and is being treated at a hospital in the provincial capital.
Former national team wicket-keeper Kamran Akmal may replace Sarfaraz Ahmed for the five match one-day series against Australia, which is set to kick off in Brisbane this Friday.
PCB selection committee, headed by former captain Inzamam-ul-Haq, will decide about replacement of Sarfaraz Ahmed.
Sarfaraz will be the second member of Pakistan’s ODI team after pacer Mohammad Irfan returned home on Monday following the demise of his mother.
Fast bowler Junaid Khan was named Irfan’s replacement in the team.
