Saudi Arabia, Pakistan sign MoUs for education, health projects in Azad Kashmir, KP

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Saudi Arabia on Thursday signed three Memorandum of Understandings (MoUs) for grant projects in Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for the health and education sectors.

Secretary Economic Affairs Division Syed Ghazanfar Abbas Jilani and the chief executive officer Saudi Fund for Development (SFD) signed the MoUs on behalf of their respective governments.

The signing ceremony took place at the Ministry of Finance in Islamabad following a meeting between Finance Minister Asad Uma and a Saudi Arabian delegation led by Chairman SFD and Adviser to the Crown Prince Chief Executive Officer Ahmad Agil F.Al-Khateeb.

Al-Khateeb was heading a six-member Saudi Arabian delegation that included senior officials of SFD. The Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Pakistan Nawaf Saeed Al-Malkiy was also present during the meeting.

The finance minister discussed with the delegation matters relating to strengthening bilateral economic ties between the two brotherly countries.

The ongoing and pipeline projects of SFD also came under discussion with the view to accelerate the pace of their implementation.

Asad appreciated the role of SFD as a development partner of the government of Pakistan.
