Saudi crown prince won hearts of Pakistanis: PM Khan

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Monday said, Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman has won the hearts of Pakistanis after he called himself a representative of Pakistan in Saudi Arabia.

In a statement on Twitter, the premier wrote “Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman has won the hearts of the people of Pakistan, when he said “consider me Pakistan’s ambassador to Saudi Arabia” in response to my asking him to treat the 2.5 mn Pakistani’s working in KSA as his own.”

Yesterday, during a grand ceremony in the honour of the royal guest at the Prime Minister House, Premier Khan while addressing to Prince Muhammad had said, 2.5 million Pakistanis reside in Saudi Arabia for work purposes, whereas 3000 Pakistanis are imprisoned in Saudi jails for petty crimes.

“We request you to please work for the release of Pakistani prisoners who are jailed in Saudi Arabia for minor crimes”, said the premier.

To this, the crown prince assured the PM that he should be considered as ‘ambassador of Pakistan in Saudi Arabia’.

It is worth mentioning that, in a major development today, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman has ordered the immediate release of 2,107 Pakistani prisoners in Saudi jails.

The Saudi Prince is currently in Pakistan on a maiden visit to the country.
