Saudi Prince Salman bin Abdul Aziz meets PM Nawaz Sharif

ISLAMABAD: Saudi Crown Prince, Salman bin Abdul Aziz has met the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Nawaz Sharif and discussed with him Pak-Saudi bilateral ties and affairs of mutual interests – ARY News reports.

During the meet at the PM House here on Monday, both the leaders agreed upon extending bilateral ties and cooperation in defence, energy, economy and other sectors.

Pak-Saudi leadership also discussed the situation of South Asia and the 'War on Terror'.

On this occasion, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said that Saudi Arabia is Pakistan's longstanding brotherly and friendly state, both the countries have shared mutual stance on numerous regional and international matters.

He added that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) has always stood by Pakistan in difficult times and similarly Pakistan attaches great importance to its terms with Saudia Arabia, whilst the recent visit of the Saudi Crown Prince shall be fruitful to strengthen these ties a way further.

The Saudi Crown Prince, Salman bin Abdul Aziz labeled the relations of both the states to be exemplary and expressed his hopes that these terms will further strengthen with the passage of time.

He insured PM Nawaz for all possible cooperation with his Government in order to overcome economic and energy crises, whereas both the countries also signed two agreements on this eve.

Saudi Arabia will grant 58 million dollars to Pakistan for the construction of a hydro-power project in Chitral, whilst under the second agreement 125 million dollars will be provided to Pakistan for the purchase of Urea.
