SBP issues details of missing prize bonds

ISLAMABAD: State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has issued the details of 20,000 missing prize bond forms of Rs 1500 each to all the concerned offices including Commercial Banks and National Savings, ARY News reported.

According to SBP statement, prize bonds of serial number AW07001 TO AW 090000 went missing when ten boxes of SBP’s prize bonds were being transported via Karachi Express from Lahore to Karachi.

The Prize bonds were sent under the custody of 16 Police Officers. But the Karachi Express, which is scheduled to be arrived Karachi at 12:00 A.M. on May 9 (Friday) but the train reached at 2:00 A.M. with one box missing out of the ten.

The investigation is being carried for the missing box while the National Saving has been asked to put the missing serial numbers out of circulation via gazette notification Finance Division and Finance Ministry, so that neither encashment can be done nor prize money can be withdrawn from these missing Prize Bonds.
