SC delists DG NAB Lahore’s fake degree case

ISLAMABAD: Supreme Court of Pakistan has delisted hearing of a case pertaining to a dubious academic degree held by National Accountability Bureau’s (NAB) Lahore Director General Shahzad Saleem, ARY News reported.

According to a notice issued by the top court’s registrar office, the case was previously fixed for hearing on Monday, November 12 by a three-judge bench headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Saqib Nisar but the hearing has been adjourned.

The new date for the hearing of the case is yet to be announced by the registrar office.

A petition filed by a journalist accuses Director General National Accountability Bureau (DG NAB) Lahore Major (Retd) Shahzad Saleem of holding a fake degree.

An alleged copy of the degree was also circulating on social media.

Earlier, in the day, NAB dismissed the copy of a masters degree being associated with DG NAB Lahore, as “fake”, and released what it said was the real degree.

The copy circulating on social media featured Calibri font, which was not commercially available till 2007.

The “original” copy released by the anti-graft authority, however, features the Arial font.
