ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court of Pakistan issued a three-page written order on a plea filled by Prime Minister’s son Hussain Nawaz over reservations on two members of the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) probing offshore properties of Sharif family, ARY News reported on Saturday.

The apex court had passed the order earlier this week on Monday.

According to the written order, the three-member special bench, headed by Justice Ijaz Afzal Khan, found that the evidences were not enough to change the JIT makeup.

It further added that no JIT member could be excluded or replaced on basis of mere suspicion for having political connections.

It is worth mentioning here that on Monday the top court had dismissed the plea filed by Hussain Nawaz while noting that the evidences were not enough to support Hussain Nawaz’s stance and ruled that nobody was above the law.

Justice Ijaz Afzal Khan remarked that the two members of the JIT who have been ‘targeted’ by Hussain Nawaz in his application, have vast professional experience in white-collar crime.

“We will not replace any member of the JIT and neither prevent someone from doing their work,” the bench had ruled then.

Hussain Nawaz in his plea had alleged that one of the two members of JIT committee was a close friend of former president General Pervez Musharaf and was very active during special court proceedings in treason case against Musharaf.

Hussain also claimed that the other one is relative of former governor of Punjab Mian Azhar who is currently linked with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI).

The reservations were raised against Amer Aziz and Bilal Rasool, who respectively represent the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) and the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) in the six-member JIT.
